Oral Health Fee For Service Scheme (OHFFSS) - Dental Hospital Vouchers!

We Accept Oral Health Fee For Service Scheme (OHFFSS) - Dental Hospital Vouchers!

At Forest Road Dental, we are proud to be registered with the NSW Oral Health Fee For Service Scheme (OHFFSS), which allows us to accept and process dental hospital vouchers. It’s important to choose a dentist registered with the Scheme, as only they can accept these vouchers. Most of our dentists are included in the list you will receive when issued a public dental voucher.

This Scheme provides eligible patients with public dental care access through private dentists. The NSW OHFFSS aims to improve access to dental care for concession card holders and their dependents, covering emergency care, general dental treatments, extractions, fillings, and dentures. However, there are limitations, and some treatments like root canals, cosmetic dental work, implants, and bridgework are not covered. It’s essentially public dental treatment being performed by private dentists.

How It Works:

  • Initially, you will visit a public dental clinic for an examination and X-rays.

  • The public dental clinician will assess your needs, develop a treatment plan, and decide if you qualify for a voucher to receive private care.

  • The private dentist will carry out the treatment as outlined in the plan, and any additional requests must be approved by the public dentist.

  • The voucher amount will depend on the treatment required, based on the public dentist’s assessment.

It’s important to understand that eligible patients receiving a voucher will have access to the same treatments that are provided in a public oral health clinic.

What Should You Do Next?

  • Once you receive a dental voucher (Oral Health Treatment Authority Voucher), contact us at Forest Road Dental and schedule an appointment as soon as possible, ideally within 10 days of the voucher's issue date.

  • Inform us that you have been referred from a public dental clinic and require treatment under OHFFSS.

  • Bring proof of identity, eligibility, and the Oral Health Treatment Authority Voucher to your appointment.

  • You will need to certify the satisfactory completion of your treatment on the voucher once your dental work is finished.

  • Any additional treatments outside of the voucher’s limitations will need to be discussed with one of our dentists.
